There is always a lot going on with Jackson County 4-H and below you will find some new updates and information about upcoming events. The newsletter, weekly emails, and the UW-Extension Facebook page will also house great updates for events and current news.  

 

4-H Club Charters due OCTOBER 15th

4-H Club charter information has been emailed out to all of the club and project leaders (for projects that have charters) as of 8/13/2018.  If information was not recieved, please contact Sarah Tanis at sarah.hoffman@ces.uwex.edu.  Sarah will be having office hours for charter help on the following dates:

  • Monday, October 1 from 1 PM – 4:30 PM: Trempealeau County UW-Extension Office; number to be reached at 715-538-3451

Annual 4-H Leader Retreat date has been set!

The 2019 4-H Annual Leader Retreat/Training will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 9 AM to 12 PM in the Jackson County UW-Extension Office.  It is a requirement of the 4-H charter for an adult leader from each club and project to attend a training session.  This is that training session!

 

2018 Plat Books are NOW AVAILABLE!

You heard right!  The 2018 Jackson County Plat Books are now available for purchase at the UW-Extension office, Scholze Ace Home Center, Moe Hardware Hand & Sporting Goods and the Jackson County Courthouse.  2018 books cost $35.00 each (add $7.00 if you want it mailed to you).

If you stop down to the UW-Extension office and purchase your 2018 Jackson County 4-H Plat Book you can sign up for a drawing. You could win a Premium Wall Map or a SmartMap (digital) version of the book. The drawing will be on August 5 at the Jackson County Fair.

4-H Summer Camp: The Great Outdoors

Takes place from July 17-19, 2018 at the Lost Falls Campground (west of Black River Falls).  Youth will explore the beautiful outdoors of Jackson County. Learn bike safety and maintenance then go for a ride. Practice your fishing cast and learn about the fish in the Black River. Learn how to use a compass and recognize plants while going for a hike. Lay on the beach and learn about constellations. We’ll camp along the river at Lost Falls Campground in tents and listen to the owls hoot and raccoons skitter through the night. Castle Camp is for youth who have just completed 3rd-6th grade (4-H and non-4-H alike) and starts at noon on July 17 and ends at noon on July 19. Registration needed to be completed before June 29.

4-H Summer Camp: The Great Outdoors

Takes place on July 18, 2018 from 8AM-4PM at the Lost Falls Campground (west of Black River Falls).  Cloverbud-age (just finishing K-2nd grade) youth will have a chance to join in the fun at Lost Falls Campground during one day of Summer Camp. Cloverbud participants will have hands-on fun and adventure. Registration was due before June 29.
